Advisor to the Minister of Finance, Sultanate of Oman since April 2009. Advising portfolio includes;
- State General Reserve Fund (SGRF) - Sovereign Wealth Fund of Oman: Investment in all asset classes in major geographies (USA, Europe, South East Asia, Russia, China and Australia).
- Reviewing and Advising on proposals presented by the SWFs for strategic asset allocation, investments, divestments, risk and performance.
- Petroleum Development of Oman (PDO): With oil and gas reserves of over USD trillions and is a global leader in the field of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR).
- Reviewing and advising on management recommendations for capital investments, five-year plans, annual budgets, quarterly and yearly performance social contribution initiatives and in-country value projects.
- Oman Air - The National Carrier of Oman.
- Evaluating acquisitions of aircrafts, route planning and socio economic returns.
- Revenue yield management, cost rationalization.
- Capital and human resources optimization strategy.
- Duqm Special Economic Zone (DSEZ): DSEZ economic development comprises of eight zones - sea port, industrial area, new township, fishing harbour, tourism zone, logistics hub, education and training area and airport. The total investment of thirty-two development projects is estimated at USD 12 billion and it is expected to contribute around 5-8 per cent of the GDP by 2020.
- Provide an independent view about the development of seaport, airport, dry-dock and industrial zones.
- World Bank and IMF Matters - Support the Minister on various issues including:
- GCC contribution to IMF for North African countries, fiscal stability, custom duties, tax and subsidies etc.
- Represented Ministry of Finance on various international trade and business delegations.
